Bathroom Renovations and Remodeling in NYC

Thinking about Bath Design

What look are you trying to create? Victorian, Colonial, Contemporary, Whimsical? What functions must fill? Exercise area, sitting room, dressing or make-up area? Who will use the bath? Children, teens, guests (and how many)? What is the traffic pattern? How do people move in and around a bathroom? What amenities are desired? Luxury shower systems, whirlpool tub, ceiling heat lamps, spa, heated tile floors, audio and telephone systems. What are your storage needs? Linen or clothes closets? Stereo and CD storage? Professionals will customize your spaces for your needs. How many hooks for towels or bathrobes? Heated towel bars or rings?

Designing a bath is an intimate undertaking, filled with many decisions based on personal habits and family lifestyles. Before you select the bath professional who will lead you through the project, make a personal commitment to be an involved and interested client. Since the success of these rooms is so important to the daily lives of you and those around you, it’s a worthwhile investment of your time and energy. Choose a designer whose work shows creativity and a good sense of planning. As in any relationship, trust and communication are the foundations for success. Is the designer open to your ideas, and does he or she offer information on how you can achieve your vision? If you can’t express your ideas freely, don’t enter into a contractual relationship, no matter how much you admire this person’s work. If these rooms aren’t conceived to fulfill your wishes, your time and resources will be wasted.

Bathroom Remodeling Coordination Process

The course of any bathroom renovation of any size starts with an initial meeting to discuss pricing, demolition, design, and scheduling, as well as a time frame for your project. After that the bathroom demolition work will begin to remove everything necessary and have a clean slate.

After demolition the rough-in will begin, including structural, plumbing, and electrical work. Once that is done the carpentry will begin, with sheetrock, tile, molding, plastering, and installation of cabinetry and other materials. Then our finishing touches will have your bathroom looking luxurious.

Additional Bathroom Renovation Steps

We will work with all project team members to define the logistical requirements for the construction process, such as areas for deliveries, placement of barricades (if required) and hours of operation
