Time Required for a Bathroom Remodel

An average bathroom renovation will take between 4 and 8 weeks depending on the scope and complexity of our project. The following outline shows the major steps that are a part of most bathroom remodeling projects.

Bathroom Renovation Schedule:

Preparation:
⁃ Permit acquired
⁃ Construction schedule is established
⁃ Water and toilet is disconnected
⁃ Electrical services for bathroom is disconnected if possible
⁃ Dust isolation and protection for surrounding areas
⁃ Path to dumpster established and protected
⁃ Negative air pressure is created to keep dust out of living area.
⁃ Vanity and medicine cabinet is established to guide plumber and electrician.
⁃ Vanity and medicine cabinet ordered

Bathroom Demolition:
⁃ Existing Tiles (floor and walls) are removed
⁃ Vanity/Medicine cabinet and existing tub will be removed (if new tub will be installed)
⁃ Frame new standing shower or install new tub (niche if required)
⁃ Plaster stripped from walls and ceilings
⁃ Walls and ceilings are de-nailed
⁃ All remaining debris is swept and vacuumed to limit spread of dust during construction.

Framing:
⁃ Walls are framed for new doors and cabinetry
⁃ Beams installed for enlarged openings
⁃ Wall framing is inspected for level and evenness
⁃ Evaluate floor framing and adjust if required

Mechanical:
⁃ Electrical walk through with client to confirm location of lighting, switches, outlets etc.
⁃ Plumbing for drains and water supplies are installed
⁃ Inspections for wiring,plumbing and framing.
⁃ Insulation is installed and inspected.

Finish Installation:
⁃ Green wallboard (cement boards in wet areas) installed and plaster
⁃ Interior trim installed
⁃ Waterproof flooring and shower area to ceiling
⁃ Install floor tiles
⁃ Install wall tiles
⁃ Install vanity and medicine cabinet
⁃ Painting and other specialities finishes
⁃ Connect/Finish plumbing and electrical
⁃ Final Cleanup and walk-through
